What is Dysport®?
Dysport® is an injectable cosmetic treatment that can effectively smooth wrinkles and relax furrows in the face. It uses a form of botulinumtoxin type A, which can block chemical signals in the muscle and prevent movement. Some wrinkles, called dynamic wrinkles, are caused by a lifetime of facial movement and expressions. Dysport® is an effective way to prevent further wrinkle formation and also relax furrows and folds.
Dysport® is an alternative to BOTOX®, and your dermatologist can help you determine which product is best for your goals.
What Can Dysport® Treat?
Dysport® is a great way to smooth wrinkles and look as young as you feel. It’s an effective option for concerns like:
- Crow’s feet
- Forehead lines
- Glabellar lines
Dysport® can easily be combined with other non-surgical cosmetic treatments for even better results. This can include chemical peels, microneedling, IPL, or even other injectable treatments like dermal fillers. During a consultation with our team, you can create a customized treatment package for your goals.
What Happens During Treatment?
Most patients don’t require a numbing cream for Dysport® treatment, but it can be supplied if needed. To begin, your treatment area will be cleansed. Then, the product is placed in the muscle using a very fine needle. If you’ve opted for other cosmetic treatments, they can be performed at the same time.

Dysport® Recovery and Results
Dysport® requires no downtime, although you’ll need to avoid exercising and hot environments for the first 24 hours. It’s also important to avoid rubbing or massaging the area during this time, since this can cause the product to spread to unwanted areas. You should also avoid laying down or bending over for the first four hours.
It can take between one and two weeks for your final results to settle in after Dysport® treatment. If you’re unhappy with your results, you can return at this time for a touch-up. You can expect your results to last for three to four months.
